Interested in how to participate in the North Park Planning Committee (NPPC) -- or become a board member?
Join a meeting
Our meetings are the third Wednesday of every month. We do not have regular meetings in December.
Our main board meetings are when we make formal decisions on "Action Items" (as an advisory board, this usually means making recommendations or writing letters of support or opposition, but also may include petitions or pilot programs).
Show up in person at 2901 North Park Way, San Diego, CA 92104 (on the second floor of the Horizon Fellowship)
Currently, our zoom link is found within our Agendas for each meeting and subcommittee meeting.
Join a sub-committee meeting
Our subcommittee meetings vary. Currently, our schedule is:
Public Facilities and Transportation (PFT) and Communications are on the first Wednesday of every month.
Urban Development and Project Review (UDPR) is on the second Wednesday of every month.
Our sub-committee meetings tackle preliminary issues, questions from the public, and potential action items for the full board in greater detail than a main board meeting, but with a narrower scope. However, these are always less than a full quorum (voting majority) of the NPPC, meaning we don't make any formal decisions during the sub-committee meetings. If you have an idea, proposal, or complaint you want to discuss in greater detail, reaching out to the respective subcommittee chairs may be a good choice.
Join the Board or vote for Candidates
The NPCC is a public advisory board. That means our members are elected via a popular vote of eligible voters within our planning area boundaries. You must be 18 and live or own a property, business, or nonprofit within the North Park Planning Boundaries (see map in voter guide below)
The timelines vary from year to year, but in general elections are held in March, and the February / March meeting will include an opportunity for candidates to give a brief speech. Candidates must submit proof of eligibility, and optionally a brief statement. Candidate statements and headshots are posted publicly.
Terms are for two years, and board members are elected on a staggered basis. For more details on how to participate, click on the button below.
